When I read the book Wonder by R.J. Palacio, I have a couple of questions. One of the questions I had is why did they make this book? I was wondering if it was because the author knew someone with this issue, or if she just wanted to write a book about this subject.

When I read this book, I could only think of a couple connections. The connection I made was in the movie/book the Diary of a Wimpy Kid, there is a cheese touch. In Wonder it is like if you touch August you get the cheese touch and it is very bad.

In the book Wonder I think R.J. Palacio does a good job putting images in my mind, but in my head there was one scene that I could picture very clearly. The scene I could see was when August shows up in a bleeding scream costume instead of Bobba Fett, and overhears his best friend Jack talking badly about him. I can picture this because the author explains most things in the classroom they are in, and all the costume details.

In the book Wonder there is a kid named August. August has a face problem (Treacher Collins Syndrome) and has always been homeschooled. In this book he starts school for the first time in his life. This story tells the perspective of August's sister, two of his friends and him. He is struggling in the first part of the year, but as the season continues he is able to adapt more, and make more of his middle school experience.

R..J. Palacio wrote the book Wonder in a very different style than most authors write books. For instance, most authors write books where there is one narrator for the entire book, but R.J. had many people share their point of view. For example, there are 4-5 parts to the book, and each part is the perspective of somebody different.

In my opinion this was a very good book for many reasons. First, I think this is a very well written book because in the first few pages I was intrigued and not bored. Also I think the idea of sharing different people's perspective on things is very clever.
