Jews were put into ghettos which had terrible living conditions. The Germans and their collaborators brought Jews to a killing sight where they often made them strip their clothing and shot them. They murdered Jewish men, women, and children in mass shooting operations. Originally ghettos were established to separate Jews from, but later in the war they served as staging grounds for transportation of Jews to the east.
