Many people started noticing how bad climate change is getting and many people have come together to make a change before it's too late.

Many people heard of the Flint situation even without knowing the facts but some change was still provided because of the attention it got.

The textbook states, "In a mass society, power resides in large bureaucracies, leaving people in local communities with little control over their lives."(p.541). The cartoon is displaying how people in charge are never available and they are left with little they can do about it. The company in the cartoon may have certain policies in place for a specific reason but those reasons aren't always far to everyone.

The textbook states, "For example, a capitalist culture seeks to improve health through advances in scientific medicine rather than by eliminating poverty, despite the fact that poverty is a core cause of poor health."(p.541). If poverty was eliminated then health would improve and in the image, if "tax cuts" gave a chunk of money to reduce healthcare, college, and housing costs then those problems would be solved as well.

The textbook states, "Similarly, although women participate more broadly in modern societies, they continue to run up against traditional barriers or sexism."(p.544). Sexism is still a major issue, for both women and men, it makes them feel powerless for simply participating in social life. Modernity, as states in the textbook, has given people a sense of freedom but in other cases it hasn't affected everyone so greatly.

The perspectives of people and families has changed and they now see things differently in the postmodern era. Not everyone has the same perspective, as shown in the image, there are different views on the same concept.

Like the image shows and the textbook explains, the modernization they claims that technological advances will help poor people.
