What if she killed Beowulf and became the queen?

We thought it was interesting that the men in the story seemed to be scared of her, but they still said she was less than a man??

If she were to speak we think she would be throwing curses at the men.

We think that because she is so independent that is why she seems so dangerous. That is not what they are use to when thinking of a woman.

If here name wasn't Grendel's mother we think readers might think she is a man.

She has a lot of choice and is able to do kinda whatever she wants. Even though it doesn't end well she isn't really tied to a man that she needs to be dependent on.

Does the text give her an interior life? If so, what are her thoughts and feelings?

- As a group, we thought that she does not really choose her life due to her heritage (descendant from Cain) but she embraces it. Her thoughts and feelings are mourning and grieving her son and she goes about that with avenging her son.

- The text portrays her in my eyes as the typical mother figure. For example, when her son got hurt the first thing he went to do was to crawl back to his mother and she seemed revenge like any other mother ever would.

- Her character just fueled by revenge and love for her son.

-She takes control of the situation presented to her and took the initiative of taking revenge on the people who did this to her son
