This volcano is famous because its eruption was so violent in 1980 that the top half of the volcano "blew up!". The ash went all the way from the northwest of the united states to the Florida!

We enter through the top crater into the vent. The conduit is made of hot rock and there's not much to see. There are no side vents of any notice.  Farther and farther down we go until we hit liquid molten magma.
