I do believe that teaching Hebrew is a key to increasing immigration, if not the only key. I think that many times, people have the right convictions and reasons for moving, but they are concerned about integrating socially into Israeli culture, where will their kids go to school, how will they be able to navigate the day-to-day in a foreign place etc. Feeling confident in the language is the first step in the right direction that allows people to say, "we can do this!"

Hebrew alone does not make someone move. People usually decide to move because of their identity, family, community, and life opportunities, so learning Hebrew is one helpful part of that

For a child to develop connections to the land of Israel, they need to first develop a connection to the country’s language. This need not be cut and dry, and can be done in a myriad of ways: Israeli TV programming, music, and even news coverage of local Israeli events. Without first connecting to the language, it becomes almost impossible to appreciate Israel for all it truly is.

I've done this before (though not in Hebrew) and its a real challenge- the brain is trying to process multiple things at once- reading the words, processing their means (different colors) and processing the color of the actual words, which differs from the color that the word itself means. I find it to be a fun challenge and am very good at it, but this can be extremely confusing for those who have difficulty reading.

This is very confusing, even though I can read it rapidly.

It's pretty easy to read the words but if you were to ask me to say the color of the letters instead of what the word says, that is very hard

Sensory input from the environment enters our temporary memory, after which it is either forgotten or eventually stored in long term memory. Memory must be reviewed or it is at risk of being forgotten even after being encoded. This model is limited because it seems overly simplistic about how memory is stored and retrieved- for example, some memories can be stored for decades without being recalled, and they can be retrieved many years later.
