Some ways vaccine research and testing poses ethical issues and balancing the common good is who to give vaccines to and what will be the outcome. There is a lot of question when it comes to how the vaccine will affect different groups of people being children, those in developing countries and those with underlying conditions. Different precautions and safety standards need to be met for each varying group making it hard to balance trying to issue a vaccine to help everyone when there is obvious individual requirements and safety concerns.
-Sydney

Vaccine mandates are devised based on research, testing and commitee approvals that confirm vaccines' safety and efficeny to keep the majority of people safe. These mass mandated vaccines have been shown to reduce risk of sickness and eradicate or prevent the deadly impact of diseases such as measles and smallpox. However, the ethical debate surronds people's opinion that mandated vaccines infringes on their personal liberties and autonomy, as well as disagrees with their various religious or philosophical views. For that reason, some people choose to refuse the vaccine in thought that they are protecting their personal liberties, though this hurts the common good as diseases can stay alive and cause death and illness as eradication becomes less possible without full participation. A balance has been created with certain philosophical and religious exceptions able to be made against state vaccine mandates, however, those who dissent and refuse are at bigger risk of getting sick and dying.
-Dominick
