Identity

I have been able to heavily incorporate my identity into the final alter piece for the design module. Starting out writing a letter to my mom allowed me to sit in the vulnerability it takes so share a personal experience with a group of people. Then taking that idea and turning it into an artistic presentation that wholly embodies everything it means to me connects deeply with my identity as an artist and a person. Currently I am creating a sunshine stuffed animal due to my mom and is connection to the song, "you are my sunshine". The module has not only help me develop my artistic identity, but my personal one as well.

Inspiration

Each Module of PCP has fostered inspiration in its own way. Whether it be the pictures we pulled from in playwriting, the free flow and open nature of the final alter piece, or the dreaming of hopeful moments in devising. This class as a whole has generated new and inventive ways to help the creative juices flow and give inspiration the opportunity to strike. Specifically the hopeful moments section of devising helped to inspire me. Bringing in my own as well as hearing other peoples made me excited to take those moments and turn them into something even bigger and more immersive.

Collaboration

Within the devising model collaboration was extremely present in all phases of the process. From the very beginning where we focused on learning about devising we all had to work together to build a circle of trust so everyone felt truly free to share their thoughts. As we moved to our group projects, collaborating with on and other became imperative. Listening and allowing others to be heard became the true backbone of the class. Without giving each other room to speak freely, the projects wouldn't have gotten done. My example of this being the performance based on moments of hope. It is a direct visual translation of the beauty that comes from the marriage of multiple people's artistic vision.
