My mom has always told me this. Her song to me is “Humble & Kind” by Tim McGraw. She tells me that you never know what someone else is going through and that you should always at least give them the benefit of doubt.

Though I do not know what I want to do in life quite yet, I know that I don’t want to drown in my work. I don’t want my career to feel like an aimless and hopeless job. It should make me happy and not feel as if it is a task. Kent State helps me feel like I can accomplish anything.

Living somewhere happy

I want to live peacefully out West in the mountains when I get older. I want be able to live with my husband peacefully, debt free, and unworried about money. Getting my degree makes me calm to know this is an achievable dream.

Traveling throughout my life

I hope to be wealthy enough with a good degree where I can travel as I please and not have to stress or worry about affording it.

Living a healthy life

I will stay healthy. Not only physically, but mentally as well. If I don’t have to stress about what job I need to go to next, I believe life will be simpler. I will be able to find peace since I will not be worried about where life will take me, career wise. I will also have lifelong friends in my life that I will have probably met at college.

This is something my dad has been telling me for many years. I am a constant over thinker, always holding onto what can be instead of focusing on what is. I still remember the day he first told me this. If something is making me nervous, but it is still days away, I try to calm myself down because worrying does nothing.

If anyone asks what my life motto is, this is what I tell them. This goes hand in hand with what my dad tells me. Why worry about something you’re unable to change? Just let it happen man.
