Housing and Roommates

My Personal Choice
I chose the dorms because I didn't want to miss out on the social experience that includes friends and learning communities.
I will have a roommate who's currently my roommate at UIUC.
However, I think I would've used this site that helps you find roommates in your university, or this link from UW-M shows how one can either be assigned to a random roommate or make a group of preferred roommates.

Dorms
UW-M has 21 residence halls that range in capacity from 30 to 1250. Each year, over 90% of UW-M's freshman chooses to live in dorms which was a positive sign for me.
This file compares almost all 21 residence halls and you can see which one suits you better.

Payment Plans
Here, you can see the different payment plans for each residence hall with the dining plans of all tiers.

Changing Food Plans
You can change your meal plans on My UW Housing's website. However, you can only change them before September 11. Therefore, you need to figure out whether your current plan works for you by then. If you still want to change your plan after the deadline, you'll have to contact the housing office directly.

Handling Roommate Conflicts

Roommate agreement: Your house fellow will have you and your roommate agree to some terms. This agreement can be used to then resolve any issues that might come up between the two of you, so make sure that it is covering all of your needs.

University resources: Reaching out to your house Fellow could resolve many issues since they do have some experience and they are unbiased. This article and this video from the university are helpful resources about roommates and conflicts.
