My first day of this subject was on January 3rd and Sarah Denomy is my professor she started up with an very engaging group activity. She did that in a different way with a birthday based lineup. In module 2 i learned about public agencies and cooperative purchasing. I got a clear view of how the public agencies are funded and what are public agencies. Moreover there is an in class assignment on 1st day helped me a lot get an idea about public agencies and the assignment helps to get the startup conversation with other students in class. Because that presentation was to select an agency and we need to do a 3 minute presentation which represents what is agency, what they do, what they buy, who they buy from and statistics about funding or the agency. It was a great class for understanding postives and negatives of cooperative purchasing.

In module 3 helps me to get an overview of Broader Public Sector Directive and Trade Agreements, SILEx Introduction.

From the slides i get to know that Hospitals, Universities, Colleges, School boards, Community Case Access Corporations, Children’s Aid Society are giving funds to Broader Public Sector Directive although these all are not government organizations but all are funded by the government. In addition i get to know about the silex group research report and presentation.

In module 6 i learned about competitive bidding, it's different types of documents and non-competitive procurement. The different types of documents are RFI, RFEI, REP, RFQ and RFT.

Furthermore, i submitted my individual case analysis and i got 0 for that because i submitted too many references which the assignment does not need any references. That was a very huge learning for me and after that i did my best to improve on this subject.

In module 7 there is an in-class assignment where we need to form in group to do the executive summary based on the individual analysis. We do our best to summarize each case analysis and identify the issue, making the right decision, implementation plan and solutions to resolve the issue. It was a good experience for me to learn from others and correct my mistakes from there. At last professor told everyone to submit their files to the submission folder.

In module 8 i learned about the specifications, types of specifications and specifications of goods/services. The types of specifications includes design, brand names, performance, combination of design and performance, qualified products, regulatory products and market grade. In addition there are things to consider when reviewing specification which includes budget, costs, product/service availability, pricing, etc.

In module 9 i learned about evaluation criteria which includes supplier selection, qualified and unqualified suppliers, qualifying bids, evaluation criteria. For qualified suppliers competitive bidding documents will indicate what a supplier needs to complete the purchase, this means the supplier can provide the goods or services as indicated by the agency. If a supplier that makes false promises about their ability to deliver the products or services specified in the competitive document, or one who falsifies their data they are unqualified suppliers. At the end of module 9 our group submitted the rough draft file of our silex project and we got the feedback to clear our faults.

In module 10 i learned about ethics and fraud. The moral principle of guides a person's actions or the way an activity is carried out are known as ethics or ethics shows how we need to show up or behave in the career position. I read the types of cheating in the federal government which the professor attached on the module 10. It helped me to get more idea about many fraud activities like bidding, price fixing, abusing contract amendments, etc.

This week all we have our group presentation. We all need to wear formal dresses and me and my group mates tried our best to perform on the presentation even if we had some confusions. We was 3rd to present and i was little nervous to do it but i keep a small paper with my few notes for confidence. I think we did a standard job and we got enough mark for presentation. After this presentation i got a clear situation of London. I think everybody tried their best to perform. Our professor and students was very supportive which helps me to do better. Furthermore, i submited the silex peer evaluation by the end of module 12.

On April 1 professor asked to my group for an meeting. Actually our team was confused about this project. There was so many issue with our work but the professor give us 12.5/30 for the research report. Thankyou professor to gave marks.

In module 13 i learned about contract and supplier management. Contract is a agreement between parties and there are 4 types of contracts, they are Purchase order, Blanket purchase order, Service level agreements, Master service agreements. Supplier management is to make sure that suppliers deliver the goods and services as agreed upon, supplier management is carried out.

My experience of taking the public procurement course has been eye-opening and has forced me to reconsider the public sector's procurement procedures' organizational framework. My professor was very good and understanding. Thankyou for putting announcements on every week. Which helped me a lot to do the assignments on time. To ending up this subject i am working on reflection assignment to submit it on week 15.

I was not feeling well today to come to class. I practiced my part at home. We divide our parts equally so everyone can rehearse by their own and we are going to do the rehearsal before presentation. In module 4 i learned about risk management identifying and preventing and/or reducing exposure to any type of loss. Although it involves the tools, techniques, and strategies to recognize, identify, and classify all types of risk and the employment of all corporate staff to avoid, transfer, and manage the identified risk for the financial and collective health of the corporation.
