I believe that we all possess an underlying desire to engage in running. Not necessarily immersed in the wilderness, as shown by Chris McCandles, but rather seeking a new beginning, a purposeful existence, and a sense of meaning. Individuals possess their own perspectives on political authority, therefore rendering it challenging to attribute the inclination to flee entirely to this factor.

Nonetheless, his actions have sparked controversy and discussion, with critiques raising questions about the wisdom and ethical consequences of his decisions and dogmas. McCandless is commonly seen as a symbol of youthful idealism and the search for importance and authenticity. The individual's decision to forego typical conveniences of modern society and embark on an autonomous trip into the woods represents an idealized pursuit of self-exploration and transcendence.

McCandless's early death, as mentioned previously in the Padlet, also serves as a warning on the need of preparedness, security, and respect for the natural environment. The individual's lack of survival skills and inadequate preparation for the challenges of the Alaskan wilderness highlight the dangers of reckless exploration and the consequences of inordinate pride.

The material discussed in class refers to the lyrics of a J. Cole song named Be Free (Live on The Late Night Show with David Letterman). In his song he highlights police brutality and institutional racism in the United States. The song was published in 2014 in response to the shooting of Michael Brown, an unarmed black teenager, by a Ferguson, Missouri police officer (outside research: The Black Arts Movement - click to view).

Freedom does not necessarily matter. First of all, in the world we live in today, we accommodate multiple religions, cultures and ethnicities that see the definition of freedom very differently. I think people don't need freedom, but they need to feel as if they were. If we live under a government, we are not free, though at the end of the day what truly matters is that I feel as if I was free to do anything I desire. Therefore, I believe in the satisfaction in blindness rather than consciousness and dissatisfaction, because in such cases, people will be held back from being happy by the things that are accessible. 

I think fitting in in your own home town is not necessary, therefore I understand that people need to fit in because they have to be able to form good connections with others and share joy. 

I think that fitting in and being accepted is more important in our own lives rather than doing something new is relative to one's values and personality. Some might say that fitting in will make your life easier, therefore risking an adventurous change might be unnecessary. 

I think the world is unique the way it is because we have different thinking people living in it.  

Cole goes to say that the black community will never be or feel free if there is still oppression, violence and poverty forced upon them either by institutions or members of society.

I was only 13 years old when I learned that being a driven WOMAN is hard. It comes with labels and jokes that move against your current. At home, me and my parents would practice ways in which I could position my arguments in an irrefutable way, which translated into my very successful MUN career, and also learned to separate the personal from the professional when entering a discussion. For example, if I were to be discussing, debating or positioning myself against someone who made me, in my personal life, feel inferior or vulnerable, I would disconsider their existence outside from that conversation in order to preserve my confidence and performance in delivering my phrases. Ever since, I believe I have grown wiser and stronger as a person and I have no one else to thank if not toxic men and their negative masculinity.
