Being Supportive: When interacting with the students you will help some with homework, play games or just be there to talk to them. One example where I learned to be supportive was when I talked to a student about his favorite video games. This student was shy at first, but interacting with him first helped me start a great conversation where we shared many of the same favorite video games. Something as simple as this creates comfort for the student and makes them want to come to you if they need help with anything.

Being Professional: When learning how to interact on a professional level, I was helping students with their homework. Although you want to be cool with the kids, you also want to be professional about it and help the kids like you are a teacher. When helping kids, instead of just giving them the answer to their homework questions I would try to guide them to the answer and get them thinking on how to get the answer. This experience helped me get introduced to how to interact with students on a different level and it was very fun.
