Hi all. I am a few days late to submit and share my image.
I picked some things from the yard when the rain stopped but didn’t get around to taking the photo (lightening issues/kid etc) until later, hence the herbs looking a tad “unloved”.
In my image I have…..
Leaves from the “Bird of Paradise” plant and a variety of herbs that I have managed to grow.
The “Bird of Paradise” plant leaves hold significance as they remind me of home (PNG) and the herbs are proof that even though I have a “black thumb” (opposite of green thumb), I have managed to grow something and kept it alive.
Thank you.
Ev

Hello all.
I have attempted to illustrate recycling and the recent flood events.
My clip depicts a lego figure (curtesy of Child number 1) let’s call her “Leegona”” starting with a green, grassy background moving towards the earth and trees.
The frame moves towards Leegona being rained on and then being carried in a raft down towards all the debris left by the rain.
After her ride on the raft, Leegona can be seen with the the shredded, compacted material which gets used to fertilise the earth and help grow more trees. The final image shows Leegona standings near a tree.
This was a challenging activity for me as I am a novice in stop motion…hence no sound attached to this clip.
I definitely enjoyed making this and think I will need more practise with this ICT.
I can definitely see the benefits for students by combining this “art” and “ICT”.

If I am completely honest I was a bit behind with this activity and have not “created” anything. I wasn’t even sure what theme/story I would use for my stop motion clip.
I remember this activity being around all the rain we had in Brisbane and I must have caught “rain fever” like my kids and been a bit crazy. I ended up doing a stop motion with a rainy-sustainability theme to it but this image does not support the final product.
WHAT - no idea just took an image of the articles in my recycling bin.
SO WHAT - exactly….so what do I do now? What is my theme or story for this activity. What is happening in my world right now (real-world topic) that I can tie into sustainability?
NOW WHAT - now that I have decided I want to incorporate the rain I am thinking about how Mother Nature can help or hurt us. Too much rain causes devastation but we still need the rain for humanity and our plants to grow. I am also thinking about what has been damaged by the rain but can contribute to re-growth?

I was excited to start this activity. I knew what image I wanted to use but pairing that with the appropriate sound was challenging. Actually it was more challenging to use the ICT to create the correct sound I wanted to illustrate.
What I have learnt is that images and sounds go very well together to really engage, motive or stir emotions.
Also, I need to include the sound part on my CPD as I was not very fluent with this.
Overall, lots of fun.

https://www.soundtrap.com/signup?ref=72a58699dd440feb6f69dc5fea8ff076

This was interesting. I found this activity challenging and has some anxiety related to it.
Upon reflection, I was able to recognise that the anxiety related back to the fact that I never learnt a musical instrument or did well in music class. Is this something my students will have too? How can I help them move through and past their anxiety?
I did love the connection between math (fractions) and musical beats/rhythms etc. Pure genius! I can see the link between the Arts and other curriculum areas (Arts integration after all :) ).

Side note, could not work out how to record and then insert here. Apologies.

Integrating Drama with Literacy.
I enjoyed reading this. I loved the book, the colours, the way the characters were drawn, the use and placement of the words in the story.
This is a book that I could definitely see myself reading to the class with expression and a lively demur.
A great example of authentic integration between drama (arts) and literacy.

This image was specifically selected to engage students and get them to start thinking about how they would be feeling and what their body would be doing if they were in this image.
Students may like to work in small groups to create a drama about life on these boats in this condition/environment.
Students may also like to create a movement dance/dramatisation individually with no sound to tell the story of the rough seas, the cold ocean wind, feeling sea sick and afraid.

It's a good enquiry based image to get students interested and therefore engaged.
Students can then work in small groups or individually to act out their creative interpretation of this image. Inclusion and differentiation.
