Adab is an arabic term that refers to manner, etiquette and wellbeing. Adab is crucial in the process of seeking knowledge. One should adhere the etiquette of adab while pursuing education and wisdom. It is also an important tradition in islam that we must respect our teacher as they are the torchbearers that guide our way into knowledges. Hence, we owe them respect to attain their blessing. This will also contribute to a better process of studying as everyone develops a character with a proper manner. All in all, adab is the first important key to have before stepping into knowledge pursue. Without adab, one's knowledges and wisdom is nothing to Allah SWT.

hadith that emphasizes the importance of adab in seeking knowledge:

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم:

تَعَلَّمُوا الْعِلْمَ، وَتَعَلَّمُوا لَهُ السَّكِينَةَ وَالْوَقَارَ، وَتَوَاضَعُوا لِمَنْ تَعَلَّمُوا مِنْهُ

"Seek knowledge and learn tranquility and dignity for its sake, and be humble to those from whom you learn."

Dua to seek knowledge:

اللَّهُمَّ انْفَعْنِي بِمَا عَلَّمْتَنِي وَعَلِّمْنِي مَا يَنْفَعُنِي وَزِدْنِي عِلْمًا

"QUR'AN AS THE BOOK OF GUIDANCE"

Quran is the ultimate book of guideline for the human kind. It conveys shumulliyah and messages from god to man. It is relevant for all timeline be it in this modern civilisation or ancient times. It encompasses all stages of life, from the moment we formed in the mother's womb, to the moment we are dead. Qur'an also emphasises the importance of seeking knowledge. By seeking knowledge, the humankind can gradually put a progress into advancing the civilisation in both spiritual and material term. There are no other guide book that can replace Qur'an as it is the only devine guidance directly from god, unperturbed by human hands.

• Islam is described as the testimony that there is no god but Allah and Muhammad is His messenger, along with performing the five pillars of Islam: Shahada, Salah, Zakat, Fasting, and Hajj.

• Iman involves belief in Allah, His angels, His books, His messengers, the Day of Judgment, and the divine decree of good and evil.

• Ihsan is to worship Allah as if you see Him, and if you cannot see Him, then know that He sees you.

Ihsan encourages Muslims to strive for excellence in their faith and daily lives, fostering qualities like honesty, compassion, and a genuine commitment to doing good.

The concept of Ihsan is beautifully encapsulated in a famous hadith (saying of Prophet Muhammad), where he says:

"Ihsan is to worship Allah as if you see Him, and if you cannot achieve this state of devotion, then you must consider that He is looking at you."

One of many example of Ihsan is action like charity.

Donating to those in need with sincere intention, not for recognition or praise. Ensuring that the act of giving is done privately and with kindness, considering the dignity of the recipients.

• is the study of "last things" or the end times in theology. It covers topics like the end of the world, the final judgment, and the ultimate destiny of humanity. Different religions have their own interpretations of these events.

THE JUDGEMENT DAY IN ISLAM

No man knows when the hour will come except Allah SWT. However, there are signs of kiamah from the Quran and Hadith for us to recognize and heed to the signs.

There are;

• Minor signs

• Major signs

• Final signs

There are more than fifty minor signs mentioned by Prophet Muhammad. Many of these signs have already occurred and some have not.

HADITH IMAM AL-DARY

In this hadith, Tamim al-Dari recounts a journey by sea that led to an encounter with a mysterious figure on an island. This figure, known as Al-Jassasah, directed them to a man in chains who identified himself as the Dajjal.

In Islam, "Al-Masih" refers to Jesus (Isa in Arabic), who is considered a prophet and the Messiah. Muslims believe that Jesus was anointed by God and performed miracles by God's permission. He is also believed to return to Earth before the Day of Judgment to restore justice and defeat the false messiah, Al-Masih ad-Dajjal.

DAJJAL

In Islam, the Dajjal, also known as Al-Masih ad-Dajjal, is a false messiah who will appear near the end of times before the Day of Judgment. He is described as a deceiving figure who will perform miracles and lead people astray with his false claims of divinity.

IMAM MAHDI

In Islam, Imam Mahdi is a prophesied leader who is believed to appear before the Day of Judgment to restore justice and righteousness

AD-DHUKAN

In Islam, "Ad-Dukhan" refers to a significant sign of the Day of Judgment. The term "Dukhan" means "smoke" or "fog." According to Islamic eschatology, Ad-Dukhan is a thick smoke that will cover the earth as one of the major signs indicating the approach of the end times

YAKJUJ & MAJUJ (magog & gog)

In Islam, Ya'juj and Ma'juj (also spelled Gog and Magog) are two tribes mentioned in the Quran and Hadith that are associated with the end times. Described as descendants of Adam through his son Noah's line. Near the end of times, it is believed that this barrier will be breached, and Ya'juj and Ma'juj will be released, causing chaos and destruction across the Earth.

Adab is an Arabic term that refers to good manners, proper behavior, and etiquette.

Is is essential for one to possess adab to enrich the relationship toward family and community and also for personal growth.

"‏ إِنَّ مِنْ أَخْيَرِكُمْ أَحْسَنَكُمْ خُلُقًا ‏"

'The best among you are those who have the best manners and character.'

ADAB TOWARD PARENTS

• speak politely and respectfully

• Obey their instructions as long as it does not contradict with religion

• Show gratitude

• Assist them in daily needs

• Make dua for them

ADAB TOWARD THE NEIGHBOURHOOD & SOCIETY

• Greet and interact kindly

• Offer help and supports

• Avoid causing disturbance

• Respect the differences

ADAB AS A STUDENT

• Sincerely seeking for knowledge

• Respect the teachers

• Be disciplined

• Avoid cheating, plagiarism and dishonesty

• Be mindful of the school property and cleanliness
