As the Ceramics teacher at Heights High school I try to make art work that inspires my students to engage in making quality artwork. I enjoy making work that is sculptural with functional elements. I make my work with both high-fire and low-fire clay, and I like to make sure to address the clay surface. I accomplish this by using both adding and subtracting methods, emphasized with the use of under-glazes and stains . My work usually contains both wheel thrown and slab built pieces.
