The author uses cause and effect structure to organize this text. Cause and effect explains why things happen. For example, one cause is that plants use sunlight to make food. The effect of this is that they give off oxygen. Another cause is that for six months, the northern half of Earth leans toward the sun. The effect of this is that it is Spring and Summer in this part of the world. These examples help me to understand that the author is using cause and effect structure.

The author uses cause and effect structure to organize this text. Do you know that the sun is really a giant star at the center of our solar system? The sun is a large ball made of many kinds of gases. It give light and heat to the planets that move around it. These planets make up our solar system. This is how I know that the author uses cause and effect structure.
