This is your skipper, letting you know that I won't be throwing any curve balls or sending you any assignments out of left field this semester; however, I do want you all to pitch in, so you don't end up with a bush league grade in the course. The easiest way to hit a home run in this league is to get in there every day and take your cuts. Before you know it you will hit that MLP out of the park and touch all the bases.

Good Afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen,
I hope to hit this class on sweet spot this semester. I do not want to get into any pickles with the professor. I am like a closer because I can be put into any situation and come out on top. When it comes to the assignments in this class I do not want to be caught looking. I want to have a day and maybe hit some dingers. I never do bush league and I like to always be fair. I think the gap is open to get a good grade in this class. Working with others is my favorite and I hope to get some ribbies while doing so. My name is William and I wont hang you any uncle charlies.

Being in the later innings of my life, I decided to move from the minors to the majors and pursue a degree in education. Limited in time, I have enrolled in back to back semesters since 2016. Sacrificing a career that I was good at and able to make a comfortable living, I got right in there pitching, willing to give this education journey the old college try. So far, I have been a heavy hitter with my classes and I’m looking to knock this and all my other summer classes out of the park. Forgive me for grandstanding, the last thing I want is to get caught off first. For me, the key to doing well in school is staying on the ball as I know the bush league is a bad at bat away. For now, I continue to take rainchecks when friends come a calling letting them all know that I’ll be in the dugout hitting the books.

Hey team!

I am really excited to play ball with everyone! So far my batting average has been high and I had a great inning last semester so I am hoping to keep up the scores. For the new season, I want to be out of the dugout, off the bench and in the field. This course is a little out of the ballpark for me as I am not familiar with a lot of the content so I am excited to learn about and cover all the bases. After looking at the lineup on the discussion board, I think this is going to be a great group of heavy hitters! I cannot wait to see what’s on deck.

-Sarah

P.S. The picture below was from the nineteen-inning Red Sox game at Fenway. My friend and I stayed for the whole game so we moved down after most of the crowd left and we could be seen on the TV.

Hi, everyone,

My name's Dan Chou and I am an adult learner at Lesley. I was interested in taking this class last semester, but my adviser/manager gave the signal from the dugout to take other courses instead (Senior Seminar in Creative Writing and Art and Craft of Short Fiction).

I'm thankful that this class is available over the summer because after I'm finished with it and Cross-Cultural Psychology, it will be the 8th inning before I graduate in the summer of 2020. I used to feel like I was always stuck on 2nd base, but home plate is so close.

I'm currently dealing with a nagging back injury that kept me on the DL for at least one summer. It still bothers me, but I'm glad it's not one of those injuries that forces me to rest for 5 days after pitching/doing homework for one.

I'm a southpaw and double-jointed. When I was in elementary school, it was suggested that I be a pitcher, but I'm not the Oakland Athletic type. If I do make saves like a relief pitcher such as Mariano Rivera, hopefully it will be saving the lives of those who are being sex trafficked. I realize that's a heavy topic and it
has nothing to do with baseball. I hope that's okay and I haven't committed an error.

Baseball is something that is relatively new to me so initially a few of the concepts appeared to be a little out of left field. However after completing the readings I think I have managed to make it to first base.

I ended my last semester in great form batting over a 1000, it is my aim to keep this streak going and become a heavy hitter like everyone else in the class.

I hope that I can pitch a few ideas to everyone in the discussion board and become a valuable member of the team.

Let's hit it out of the park guys !!!!

- Bruce

Hey ya'll
This class, thus far, has been a perfect game. I cant think of any ground outs for this class. Everything weve learned about has been fun and has set my eyes on the fences. The History of the game was unknown to me until reading Radar. Now i know that the game was not truly an American born game so as historians we must go back and "put some English on it". Im really looking forward to going Yabo on my research for our project at the end of the semester.

Heres me pitching in Lou Tomkins u14 league. 2010
- Noah

Okay listen up team!

I think this will be a great season, though, fair warning, having homework in the summer is a whole new ball game for me. I’m past my rookie season at Lesley, but am yet to take online summer courses. No off season. It’s a little bit out of left field. I have to keep using the ol’ think tank but I hope to hit a home run with this course! Won’t let it be out of my league. I might come across some curve balls, but even if it means putting in the extra hours by playing in extra innings, I hope to come out victorious. Hopefully my assignments will be submitted early like a lead off hitter, instead of like a relief pitcher. Wouldn't want to keep him waiting like the Nationals are waiting to go to the World Series... Hope I don't get ejected for that comment.

See you on the field because now the real work starts! Play ball!

-Claire

I'm really enjoying this class and find the reading about the history of the game to be a home run. I've been proud of how I've done so far and hope to continue and bat a thousand for the course, and I hope everyone else does too! This class is a great team of students and I hope everyone puts up amazing statistics for this season. The summer is a great time to play ball and learn about America's favorite pastime. Play ball and I hope everyone is having a great summer!
-Gregory Schmidt

Boston was a real opportunity for a new ball game but I'm back in Florida now. Right off the bat, I've utilized my think tank just enough to hit a home run and finally graduate after four years! After college sent me out in left field, I'm now exploring job opportunities in esports. It sounds like an old college try, but I've taken a swing and so far it looks like it's paying off after a phenom of a time in Montreal. I've touched all bases with my job so far and look to go up from here.

I'm great with playing ball, and I hope to accompany some of my future analysis with some nice play-by-plays as my knowledge of baseball increases.

This is yet another new ball game for me, I hope for good things!
