Before the first class of the semester, the arts class was the unit I was most nervous for. We started the class of with many different activities to get to know each other which really helped calm the nerves. Activities like this would be great in the first few weeks of the school year.

The focus of this lesson was looking at Space, Time and Mood and other elements of drama

During week three we continued with our drama unit. We started by doing some warm up activites that got us more comfortbale with each other and to help ease the nerves for the lesson.

We focussed on story making and story telling using a variety of different activities. We were required to share a story we knew and then we had to try and make it more interesting and emphasise certain aspects of the story. This helped us practice our storytelling.

This week we started the dance unit. We foccused on the acronym 'BEST' which is Body, Energy, Space and Time. The main activity that stuck with me was creating our own dances without any intsructions to then using the acronym to change the routines we had created. It was a great practical way for us to work through some of the aspects of dance whilst also having fun.

In week 8, we continued our study on dance and were working with the concepts of choreography, learning in dance and learning through dance.

We did many interesting activites, a personal favourite of mine was dance whispers which got everyone up and concentrating. We also had to come up with our own choreography to a song called space rabbits, which required us to work in groups and collaborate with others.
