We also are constantly seeking forgiveness and redemption in our daily lives and we need God to help us. He forgives us of any sin, no matter how complicated or horrible it might be. It may just be the worst sin we've ever committed but we should be thankful that God forgives us, and has infinite mercy upon us. A: To start off, to be reconciled means to be forgiven, but in theological terms, reconciliation means to ask God for forgiveness of the sins you have committed, or the mistakes you've made. I think human beings need reconciliation because we are all born with Original Sin. In Chapter 9, the word Original Sin is described as "the sin of Adam and Eve that wounded human nature and introduced sin, suffering, and death into the world". It also adds on to say that all humans are born with Original Sin. 
Since we are all born with Original Sin, this means that we are all capable of sinning. making mistakes (some big and some small). With reconciliation, this is when we ask God to forgive us for whatever we've done, or whatever sins we've committed. In fact, we are FAR from perfect and make mistakes every day! In the beginning of Chapter 9, I read the definition of Original Sin. It stated, " the sin of our first parents that wounded human nature and introduced sin, suffering, and death into the world; all humans are born with Original Sin and are thus tempted to sin." To me, that kind of sums up why we need reconciliation! We aren't perfect, and we sin; we need to be saved from our sins. However, God doesn't sin. God is absolutely perfect and pure. We need His pureness to make us more like Him and to lead us to his Kingdom. I remember when I was younger, my brother told me that without Jesus, if we had sinned, we would go straight to Hell. There would be no such thing as repentance or forgiveness because there would be no such thing as Jesus. This is why Jesus is SO important and why His reconciliation is so important.
