  •  the expansion will double the canal capacity on the main link  Pacific to Atlantic through the opening of bigger locks in 2015 that can process ships conveying up to 3 times present volumes of containers
  • the canal will be able to provide passage for up to 80% of global shipping of liquefied natural gas
  • the enrichement allowed by the expansion of the canal will allow to improve working conditions by bringing air-conditioning in the factories
  • now big ships can pass through the Panama Canal so it can compete the Suez canal
  •  it will accelerate the sailing time for ships carrying exports of resource and commodity products
