One major theme we have noticed is how all the countries are currently trying to peacefully resolve their border issues. Another major theme is how all three borders are natural borders. The last major theme is how all the boundaries have been or will be made into an artificial border.

This is the enclaved Himalayan border that lies between China and India, which has been a disputed border for a while. China and India have debated over it for 60 years. But recently, they have come to an agreement over this international border. This truce plans to resolve the most recent issues surrounding it in the 2020s. This will improve the relationship between China and India. The U.S., however, wants these countries against each other.

There is a disputed border between Guyana and Venezuela, where both countries think the land is theirs. This region is called Guyana’s Essequibo region. Venezuela plans to elect a governor to this region, an area rich in resources. This is a natural border, and Guyana does not want to let it go, so they are seeking help from a UN top court to settle the dispute. This is a centrifugal force, and the hope is that the court can settle it before the situation escalates.

Italy and Switzerland had a natural border. They are peacefully working to redraw it. This boundary is not a disputed border but is being redrawn because of climate change. Glaciers between the two nation-states have melted, causing avalanches. These avalanches are a danger to skiers and climbers on both sides. Italy and Switzerland are currently collaborating to maintain glaciers on their respective sides.
