The Titanic took a long time to build, was very costly and was a very dangerous process. First of all, about 8 workers in total died while building the ship and about 240 accidents while construction. Additionally, the construction of the Titanic took 2 long years. Also, the cost of the Titanic when it was made was 1.5 million but today it comes to about 125 million. Finally, the building of the Titanic was done in Belfast, Ireland and was done by the workers of the Harland Shipyard.

There were lots of decks on the Titanic and different classes, first being the wealthiest. There were lots of different decks on the Titanic including the A deck, B deck, C deck, E deck, F deck, and G deck. In addition, there was first class, second class, and third class. First class being the wealthiest they had servants, bakers , cooks and lots of different things for them one being a spa. First class only had 329 passages because of the cost. Furthermore, second class was not as nice as first class but better than third class they mostly had bunk beds for two passengers. Half of the passengers were third class. They had to sleep about 6 passengers per cabin. They were definitely not as nice as both first and second class.

The sinking of the Titanic was very unexpected and very brutal. The night of April 14, 1912 while cruising the captain heard on the radio operators that there were icebergs ahead. But the captain still went full speed because it was common for that to happen. The people on the ship weren’t scared of the ship sinking because they were told the ship was unsinkable. As a result, when the ship hit the iceberg the hull plates collapsed along the starboard. Ultimately, when the ship sank about 705 people survived on lifeboats and 1,517 people died in the disaster.

While learning about the Titanic I researched about the Building of the Titanic, Different decks and classes, and The sinking of the Titanic. Over all, the Titanic is a very crazy part of history. I learned about how much time and effort they spent building it and how it sank from hitting an iceberg. The sinking of the ship could have been avoided but the captain chose not to stop and kept going full speed ahead.
