In the book, Bilbo at first was doubted a lot and the dwarves didn't trust in Gandalf on the reason why he chose him to come on this adventure. In chapter 10 where they escaped from the king the dwarfs seemed to really rely on Bilbo a lot for about everything. I can relate to that where at first people don't really trust in me and they doubt my capabilities and I end up showing I'm good and then they want me to do it all.

Mood/Tone - Quote

I think the tone the author gives is strength. The dwarfs go through a lot and it only gets them prepared for more things coming up. So it shows how much little by little they are gaining more strength

The setting when they're in the forest I think is kind of like an anchor in they're journey. As they try and keep going on traveling they come across the forest and everything there interferes with them and holds them back from going, like an anchor does.

Conflict - Personal connection

The conflict in the story is that the dragon Smaug stole all of these jewels and gold from the dwarfs for a long time and they are traveling to the mountain where he supposedly lives to fight for it back and the journey is long and tough full of problems. I have a connection with the part of going through a riky journey to get to something. its not super crazy like in the book but I went hiking and my goal was to reach the top and I had to go through some challenges like mud puddles, ditches, poisonous plants, or very steep paths.
