I don’t know all of the teachers but you all still say hi and treat me with kindness whenever. Andre is so chill and kind, truly the best gym teacher I’ve ever had, best chess player I know too. Genevieve and Ivy are really nice and helpful. Genevieve is the only person I’ve met in nyc with my interests lol, what a cool person to have met in 2025. Andrew is such a cool teacher aswell and his story was really inspiring. Had a very nice time cycle one in the textiles class even though it was hard to consistently come. There’s so many other teachers that I’ve also had the opportunity to be taught by and I thank you guys aswell!!

So I just came to the school so I don’t have many memories compared to others that have been here for a while, but I came to the school for another chance and the two people I wanna shout out is Miss Lucy and Miss Ivy. They’ve been incredibly caring and by my side this whole time And there’s nothing I can ask them for that they won’t try their best to help me with. They are both great teachers and even better people-fox

I appreciate the genuine care that I’ve felt and experienced from every staff member. From phone calls, to emails, texts - the commitment to my child’s progress is felt and seen. Lucy! You have been a big part of Mira's experience at the school, from the orientation that had her make the change of high schools to your class that she was a part of. She learned a lot and was very engaged. She would tell us all about what you did during class days at dinner in the evenings. THANK YOU for teaching current events and turning her on to the NYT. Jenny has also told us many times how much she trusts you and that you always have your office door open for her and an ear ready to listen.

As a parent I am so thankful for the love and care from Principal Rachel and staff, extra special love for Amy Claire who is my son’s advisor and Darius who is always reachable and supportive above and beyond. This school and the teachers that work here have created truly such a special and welcoming environment for everyone, and I will always appreciate how much the staff and administration do for us. So many of us struggle with our own issues on the outside and the people that work here have cultivated and given us safe space for us to learn engaging, fun, and relevant topics while further pushing each of us to pursue education. I'm not sure where I would be right now if it wasn't for this school and the teachers that work here who have always supported me despite absences and missing work. You make learning fun and the support you’ve given has stuck with me and inspires me each day to do better. The best teachers I’ve ever had have been at this school and I’m so lucky to have been taught by them. Happy teacher appreciation week, thanks for never giving up, and always inspiring :)

I just wanted to take a moment to sincerely thank you both for the kindness, care, and support you have shown my daughter. Knowing that you took the time to check in on her and make sure she was doing well truly meant so much to me.

As a parent, experiences with schools and programs can sometimes feel overwhelming, but your compassion, communication, and genuine concern made my CAS experience feel so much more positive and supported. It is clear that you both care deeply about the children and families you work with, and that does not go unnoticed.

I graduated from City As thirteen years ago (my goodness, do I feel old!) and I will always appreciate the staff and teachers who helped me during my time there. Before CAS, I was struggling immensely, but when I got there, I was met with care and compassion. Carl was the best advisor I could ask for and his mentorship changed my life. He, Holly, and JP were the three main teachers who truly made me believe I was even capable of graduating high school. Today, I have middle school aged kids that already tell me they’d love to go to high school where I did! The teachers and staff at CAS changed my life in so many ways and I couldn’t be more thankful. I am so impressed with the dedication of the City-As staff! From the first day of orientation with Lucy to the continuous engagement of the parents by Sasha, to the various subject teachers, at City As you know you are in a different place where the staff truly CARE about the kids. The kids are supported to learn in their own ways, and unlike other schools the teachers are positive and encouraging and don't resort to threats, humiliation and punishments. The internship coordinators find cool internships and are such a great liaison with the staff and the intern hosts.
