Roaa adel Alzoubi
Grade 9 B
The Historical Uses of Malachite
Hypnotic green swirls and a rich azurite mixture make the healing gemstone of Malachite pop. This dark emerald and glorious stone can send our imaginations shooting to forests of velvet green, soft spring days, lush mountains, and cool running waters. It is a stone that takes its name from the Greek word for malakos – meaning soft. While it is a stone that holds its strength, Malachite is a heart opener which may relate to how the Greeks came to gift this stone with its gentle title.

The Greeks weren’t the only ones to fall for this swirled green stone, the Egyptians too were smitten and would often mine the green gem of the earth from the mines of Suez as far back as 4000 BC. Ever fans of the ornate and eye-catching, the Egyptians found a thousand uses for Malachite - from grounding it down to pigment for Cleopatra inspired eye shadow to adorning their wrists and necks with gleaming gems. As time ticked into the middle ages, Malachite hadn’t fallen by the wayside or lost its magic. It was taken by healers who soothe stomach ailments and to protect against curses and negative energies. To this very day, Malachite is still used in this protective way.
Malachite may have been uncovered in Egyptian mines, but the travelers stone can be found in all corners of the globe. From the snows of Russia to the crackling sun-scorched earth of Australia, Malachite has been pulled from the ground. Unsurprisingly, it is also found in some of the world’s most lush, earthly, and spiritual destinations like the depths of the Amazon Jungle and the near-vertical slopes of the Congo.😍💕

Diamond is an allotrope of carbon with a cubic crystal structure and takes multiple forms for that cubic structure with eight faces, especially twelve faces, and mutations occur in its composition sometimes, so it appears spherical in shape, but external factors help in that formation. It consists of the element carbon (only) under high pressure and temperature and under unknown conditions in the depths of the globe, and although carbon is the main component of graphite and coal, the properties of each differ greatly from the other. This difference is not caused by the atomic structure, but by the network crystal, where the difference in the structure of the lattice leads to this vast difference in properties

Malachite is a green copper carbonate mineral. Its name could have come from the Greek word, "malache" which means "mallow", because the colour of malachite is similar to the colour of mallow leaf. Alternatively, the name could have originated in the Greek word, "malakos", which means "soft", due to the fact that malachite is soft compared with other minerals. Malachite is used as a source of copper and as a gemstone. It often occurs with azurite in copper deposits. Malachite often has distinctive concentric bands in varying shades of green, which make it an interesting gemstone. It typically occurs in aggregate form, as botryoidal (grape-shaped) masses. The history of malachite goes back to the ancient Egyptians, Greeks and Romans, who used malachite to make jewellery and amulets, and ground it into powder to make eyeshadow. Malachite has also been used as the pigment in green paints. Many years ago, huge blocks of malachite, some weighing an enormous 20 tonnes, were found in Russia and were used by the Tsars to decorate their palaces. Quartz turns into crystals when exposed to extreme pressure, as its crystal deposits were formed millions of years ago and has been used over time for various industrial purposes such as use in watches, computers and radios, and it is also used to decorate and decorate pieces of art and in jewelry USA Arkansas in America ... Quartz stone properties Quartz is formed from the common elements found in the earth's crust Quartz has a vitreous luster that ranks seventh on the Mohs scale of mineral hardness. The shattering of glass when it is broken is similar to the shattering of glass, meaning that its fractures are concave or curved. Quartz stone is tough to ambient conditions.

Malachite stone was discovered by the ancient Egyptians as well as the civilizations of Persia and the beginning. Malachite stone has a dark and opaque color with charming white veins, which gives the jewelry a distinctive touch of luxury without being bound by the royal designs specified by Hajarard.

The photographs created by Malachite made him find his way into ready-to-wear jewelry designs easily, despite his presence in classic designs, but he does not give up his brilliance in modern and vibrant designs full of the charm of the seventies.

Malachite stone benefits:

1- Protects people from negative radiation

2- anti-epileptic

3- It works to keep the burial away from the human being and rid him of it 4- Treating cases of itching and skin diseases

5- It relieves joint pain

Mica or kathane[2][3][4][5][6] is a group of silicate minerals that crystallize in the form of layers, and is characterized by the phenomenon of basal crystal cleavage, where it is easy to separate its flakes parallel to the base of its crystals. The mica crystallizes in the monoclinic or pseudo-hexagonal system and the group is characterized by one chemical composition. The distinguishing feature of mica is its ease of cleavage into layers by applying simple pressure parallel to the base of its hexagonal crystallization.

The basal cleavage occurs parallel to the base of the crystal. The direction of cleavage is determined by the crystal plane {0001} in the hexagonal structure according to Miller crystal indices. The basic cleavage is mica and graphite.
