The ease of use coupled with the instant transfer of posts among users creates scope for multiple uses in a classroom setting. 

I use Padlet primarily for hinge activities, where students can demonstrate understanding by adding a response to the class Padlet.

By double clicking anywhere on the blank space, a contributor can add a post. In the current shift in favour of BYOD in schools, Padlet provides teachers with a platform to distribute large amounts of data to students. This also provides a great way to differentiate learning for students quickly and easily- you can supply students with additional resources that they can use to complete tasks and assessments. Otherwise you can invite students via email or have them send you a request to interact with the Padlet.

Remember, students don't need an account to post on a Padlet, but this may make it easier as you can then monitor who is the author of each post. 

Recently, Padlet have added an option to connect via the use of QR codes, meaning students with portable devices can approach the board, scan the code and connect instantly! I personally LOVE the 'Canvas' format for making info graphics, and the 'Shelf' format for ordering ideas into tables!
