To me this is a symbol of what the American Dream should be. On the contrary, the valley of ashes is a symbol of what the American Dream is and what the wealthy has done. The idea that everybody has equal opportunities, to reach their own specific dream or goal. Does this actually happen? I don't believe so, because we still face many discriminatory issues across the board. Race, Gender, and sexual orientation are among the biggest factors of discrimination today.
