~ Caribbean Culture can be viewed as a body of learned behaviors common to the Caribbean region, and which is passed on from generation to generation. 

~ According to John F. Campbell, caribbean culture and cultural expressions have two salient characteristics, they are transmissible and they are always evolving. Some of the styles to gain wide popularity outside of the Caribbean include reggae, zouk, salsa, bouyon, calypso, soca, reggaeton and punta.

The slaves had different types of songs for different occassions within the plantation. Their religious songs were usually sung a capella( voicals only), but accompanied with stumping of their feet an dclapping of their hands. They also had songs for while they were working. This was more like a motivation to get the work done and ease the hard labour burden. Lastly, they had songs for recreation time.
