Colonial Williamsburg
18/18
The Colonial Williamsburg lesson connects students with the past. By providing students with the ability to visually engage with Colonial Williamsburg, the teacher creates an environment conducive to active learning.

Book Club
13/18
The Book Club lesson allows students to collaborate with one another via computer software. By creating an environment where students can actively debate and discuss, the lesson allows students to build soft skills. However, the assignment itself does lack in the engagement area.

Josh's Traits
16/18
We felt like the resource was effective in helping the student learn the standard and met the expectation. We feel that this online activity could possibly distract the student when moving around the internet looking for examples of the traits he was describing. We also felt like the standard could have been understood without the use of technology. Teacher could have put students in groups with pictures of each trait and they could have matched picture with correct trait. This activity was good in that the student could work on this assignment outside of the school day. It also connected the student with everyday life experiences with examples of why the students look the way they do through inherited traits and why they do certain things through learned traits.

Jack and Bell
18/18
The lesson motivates the students to start the learning process by allowing them to see Colonial Williamsburg using Google Street View. The student is allowed to shift into an active social learner by using technology(Padlet) and sharing their observations of Colonial Williamsburg with other students. The lesson does a great job of linking school learning to the student's everyday life experiences by seeing what children of a similar age go through on a daily basis in Colonial Williamsburg. The only downfall of the lesson would be students who do not have internet access away from school would make this lesson difficult.

Exceptional connection of the use of technology for the learning of speed vs time in relation to velocity and acceleration. The creativity in creation of the coasters helps engage students initially. Comparing the graph of what they thought would happen to the graph generated by the program, gave students instant feedback. Having the students present their findings to the group helps them develop social skills as well as helps cement the ideas and concepts in their mind.

15/18
Overall, we believe that this is a an exceptional connector. It promote engagement because it has a plethora of resources in different formats. In addition, this gives the students the opportunity to immerse themselves in a location and a time period that they are not likely to experience.

Some downfalls to the activity were the fact that many student don't have access to the technology or internet outside the school setting. Besides writing, there aren't many skills that the students will be able to apply in their daily lives. There is a huge body of resources, but only a small activity attached to it. We would suggest more choices to accommodate different learning style.

It definitely motivated students to explore Williamsburg and start the learning process and shifted their behavior to more of a social learner. Students had the opportunity to self pace their learning, learn at times that were convenient for them and could tailor the lesson to their learning style(s).

15/18
Overall, this activity was strong in several areas - engagement and extending learning goals. We liked that it created an opportunity for students to apply practical knowledge to more abstract concepts like mathematical equations. We also liked that it would possibly make students excited about learning about integers because they see how integers are used in the real world. It could use a little tweaking to incorporate differentiation and to show why technology was needed to complete this project.
