Left us Dec 26, 2020
Emerald was a fighter. Never quite a people rat, she let you hold her only so long, then wanted her independence. She had inoperable cancer on her leg but didn't let it slow her down. If she needed help climbing she would give it her all before she would look over to a human for help. She followed one sister and is survived by another. She will be missed.

We lost so many pets in the past year. I loved working with all of them.

Our sweet boy passed this morning, after a good breakfast of kibble and oats. He was a fighter to the end, though his passing was peaceful. The last of his family, like his siblings had what was like a rattie version of ALS. We will miss our little 'terror,' though he was a snuggler as he aged. Run free, little guy - go find your brothers.

Our darling Sahara lost her battle with cancer. She was a mother to every one of our animals, as well as every wild thing she met. Chipmunks couldn't possibly be happily living in a stone wall! Who was feeding them?! She fussed over every creature just the way she fussed over our rats when they fell from their play space or got sick. Her loss was hard on us all. -Mirrani

Taking a moment to remember all the rats we recently lost. Last night we said goodbye to one of our girls. Rapunzel joins her sisters and mother in the cloud playground.

Posting in memory of s sweet and lively little piggie who will be deeply missed. I'll keep reading that book out to you buddy. Just keep on listening.
