To my surprise, I am very investigative. Holland says I like to think and observe first rather than act. It also states that I would prefer individual rather than people-oriented activities. After reading this, I understand why this score was so high since I am shy and introverted.

This is interesting, considering that my social score was the second highest. People who score high in this category have the urge to teach, help, and like to work with people. It's scary how accurate this test was, haha. I like to help people and love to help others learn and grow, so this makes a lot of sense.

My third highest score was artistic. Artistic people are usually creative, open, inventive, sensitive, independent, and emotional. They like to work with ideas and play with the different aspects. This is true; it feels like I'm getting my horoscope read to me.

I got SCI for this test. I'm surprised that "social" is one of my higher scores whenever I have taken these tests recently. I don't see myself as social. The image in my head of a social person is an extrovert who loves being around people and gets energy from social settings. I definitely have a limit on my social battery, but I do consider myself friendly and courteous. Maybe that's why lol

Some days, I wake up energized and motivated to take on the day. On other days, I am like Master Shifu. I try hard to find my flow and inner peace. But then something, even the most minor things, becomes too distracting. This can lead me away from my main task. When I try to focus my thoughts during this state of mind, it sometimes feels like I'm herding chickens on a football field.

I tend to hyper-focus on tasks when I need to finish them by a due date. This mostly pertains to school assignments but also applies to chores. I can spend hours trying to complete them. I usually need music to help motivate me and make the task more enjoyable. This is one of my go-to songs; it always makes the flow stage smooth and easy to transition into.

I prefer something more classically cute, but my boyfriend has a different definition of cute, lol. To me, needle felting is akin to knitting. I can get into the zone easily if it is something I genuinely enjoy.

People who are young-old and old-old know that they have a limited amount of time left. They savor every moment and spend time with people they truly care about. The lesson I want to take from chapter 13 to live a more fulfilling life is to remember to appreciate the present and protect my peace from people who don't contribute to my life. Spend every day appreciating it like it is my last.

Chapter 13 discusses the difference in mindsets between the youth and the elders. As teens and mid-life adults, we always push forward, looking to the future like we are running out of time. We don't take the time to appreciate what is happening. We always look for the next step to advance and can unintentionally distance ourselves from loved ones.

Chapter 19 discusses how aging affects physical health. As we age, our immune system begins to decrease in efficiency. This can lead to an overall increase in potential illnesses, affecting our day-to-day functions. While we cannot stop the aging process, we can most definitely reduce its effects by caring for our health. The lesson I plan to take from chapter 19 and put into action is to be more active and create healthier eating habits. I would like to live a long and healthy life with my loved ones.

My actual age is actually less than what my chronological age is. This is a great surprise for me. I have had a lot of mental and physical health issues this year, so it is very welcomed. My blood pressure was 146//104 at one point, and I have gotten it down to around 128/80. I was eating and exercising more, but since finals, I have had to put my routine on pause. Once finals are over, I am eager to get back into my workout routine.

Something else I acknowledge that I need to improve my results is maintaining my mental health. It is something I know I have been neglecting for a long time. I find it funny that all of the tests, including this one, have noticed my anxiety. I have and still, dismiss it as "everyone has anxiety, so it's not a big deal." Most of the time, if I take a nap, it can quiet my thoughts and push them to the back of my mind. Looking at my results, I can see that it is time for me to start caring about my overall health.

LIVING TO 85!

I am so happy with this result. I have a short, rather unhealthy family history. My mom, my siblings, and I are all hypertensive, even in our 20's. So, this is a great perspective on my life expectancy. Most of my immediate family health issues are due to having sedentary lifestyles and poor eating choices. My mother is not in the best health at 50, and she has been told that dialysis is a real possibility if her health does not improve. My maternal aunts all needed partial hysterectomies by the age of 35 due to complications. With all of these odds stacked against me, I feel hopeful now. So 85 is so much better than what I thought it would be :D

I know what changes are needed to increase this number. I already have slight arthritis in my shoulder and tendonitis in the tendons of my left leg. A physical therapist I work with said that I have "crunchy bones." Therefore, it would be a good idea to start strengthening exercises. I am motivated to have a healthier lifestyle and not live in chronic pain.

My ideal stage of life is emerging adulthood. This is partly because I have a hard time imagining what life would be like in my 30s. However, I clearly understand what life was like in the previous stages. The blur of infancy to toddlerhood was quick. Early childhood was full of adventure and imagination. Middle childhood was about to find my footing in the world. The angsty and awkward phase of adolescence was a social jungle. Emerging adulthood has allowed me to explore who I am and what matters to me more. At the same time, I am still learning how to "adult" and how to navigate my next steps in life.

The book states this is the "in-between" where people find themselves in a "not-quite-fully-adult time of life." The age range is between 18 to 29. By 25, the brain is fully developed and turned on. During this stage of life, we have a huge influence over the trajectory of our lives, with some fully functioning frontal lobe thought processes going on. Within this age range, we also have time, energy, and (some) money to keep exploring our identities.

Hi Mrs. B! As I have said in our Zoom meetings, I appreciate your willingness to be there for your students and hear them out. In general, all summer courses are packed and fast-paced. You have done an amazing job of giving your students as many resources and details as possible while being a 100% online course. You give your students ample time to finish assignments and give weekly/ daily reminders of due dates. I can tell that you do your best to ensure that your students succeed in this class. While there are many assignments and projects, you make everything accessible and are very generous with your grading scale. There is not much else to say but thank you. Thank you for the wonderful semester! - Alex :)
