1. Description of integrated curriculum and rationale for curriculum integration

From the word “integrated” it states that lessons included in the curriculum are merged with other subjects. For example, an English and Science integrated lesson in which both subjects are taught at the same time. The results of this allows students to simultaneously learn valuable information on two subjects in one lesson. Based on the lesson topic, the teacher integrates another that could align with the subjects learning outcomes. For example, students are learning the letter W, the teacher could integrate science into the lesson by talking about Weather types. It also allows students to see the bigger picture when learning. How languge can be connected to other subjects they’re learning in school, and how everything learnt applies into the world outside of school too. It also gives the teacher more options when it comes to class activities and group tasks. Integrated lessons go hand in hand with 21st century skills too as they motivate students to collaborate and communicate with each other.
