         <description><![CDATA[<div>I have been put in a group with Melissa, Lewis, grace and Hollie. We have agree that the stimulus of our dance is the Paris attacks. We have chosen the song "build a home" by the cinematic orchestra to create our piece to.&nbsp;<br><br>This week we were missing Hollie and Lewis so we just came up with a bank of dance moves and steps that we could use within the piece. We worked on different travelling sequences such as leaps and sequenced steps such as "chasse parda-bora".&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Today as the whole group was here we began to choreograph. After dancing for awhile we came to the conclusion that "build  a home" was to boring to dance to as it had to many instrumentals. We changed the song to "save the people" by birdy. This song reflects the mood of the story we are conveying well. We have chosen to all represent a country that has given support to Paris. Grace is our lead girl and is playing Paris. <br><br>We choreograph the 1st minute and a half to our piece. We used techniques such as <strong>unison</strong>, <strong>different dynamics </strong>in movement and moments of <strong>stillness</strong>. We used each divice to create mood, we brought each person into the dance seperatly starting with Paris. We tried to create the feel of Paris being supported gradually by the other countries. We used unison to a represent the world as a unit and to show that everyone will always help. We used sharp movements to represent the struggle of the country during the attacks and slow and soft moves are to represent the loving people of the world supporting them. </div>]]></description>

         <title>Analysis of piece. </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>OWhat does the company want to create and why?&nbsp;<br>We are trying to create a piece of contemporary dance based around the 2015 attacks in Paris. We feel this news story can be explored into great depth and if we handle the subject in the correct manner we will also be able to create a beautiful memorial piece in respect of the victims, the family's and the country as a whole.&nbsp;<br>What must you include in the preformance?&nbsp;<br>Our assignment requires us to include a travelling section in the routine. Lifts, floor work and the use of a prop. We have decided to use torches in our piece, to represent Paris as the city of light. We will have one person playing Paris who will be wearing black and the others will represent the countries who came to the aid of Paris and lit the country back up.&nbsp;<br>What restrictions must you stick to? Why? and how will you do this?&nbsp;<br>Our piece is it aloud to be longer than four minutes we have decided on a song that is four minutes long. We will either choreograph&nbsp; to the end or cut the song. another restriction is everyone must start and finnish onstage. We have choreographed&nbsp; an ensemble piece meaning there is no need for anyone to leave the stage. We also have to consider that this is a very serious subject and it must be handle with alot&nbsp; of care to not upset or offend anyone, as well as making it respectable for the victims.&nbsp;<br>Which skills and techniques will we need to for full this brief?&nbsp;<br>We must work as a choreographic team as well as performing as an ensemble. We must be in sink with each to ensure everything is done correctly in the preformance. We also will use devises and structures such as unison and cannon in our pieces. &nbsp;<br>Which skills will you learn and develop to forfill this?<br>We will learn the importance of being sentimental and cautious when dealing with touching subjects like the massacre we will be portraying. We also will develop team working skills and learning to adapt to people's strength.&nbsp;<br>Who will you work with?&nbsp;<br>I will be working closely with my company which consists of Lewis, Hollie, Mel and grace.&nbsp;<br>How will you plan ahead in your rehersals?&nbsp;<br>Making sure we come to rehersals with ideas for the dance. As well as making sure we're practicing the routine whilst at home or when we have spare time. We record the progress of the dance every week and send it onto a group chat so the whole company can access the videos at any time.&nbsp;<br>What research will you carry out?&nbsp;<br>I have researched the Paris attacks and the country's who came to the aid of Paris. I have also looked at a few of the countries that helped Paris as we will each be emboding a country.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Today was the 1st day of our assignment. We all had a lesson with Kate in which we went through the the assignment in detail and had a lesson on all cheorograpghic&nbsp; techniques. We could use for the dance. We were then put into groups. I was put in a group with Melissa, grace, Lewis and Hollie. The stimulus for the dance had to be something currently in the news.          <description><![CDATA[<div>When we came into today's rehersal Hollie had created an edit of the song we'd chosen "save the people" she had found two interviews about the Paris attack. She added them into the introduction and the instrumental. We decided to create the instrumental piece as a lyrical cheorography. Where we created moves that tell the story of the interview ( logical sequencing ). We also discussed costume. We have decided that grace (as Paris) will wear black to represent "the city of light going dark". Hollie and Lewis will wear red with a white shirt over the top. Melissa and me will wear blue with a white shirt over the top. We also decided we were all going to use hand held torches rather than finger lights as we feel it will look more asthetically pleasing.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

Having ripped two of the ligaments in my left ankle, and pulling the rest.&nbsp; The recovery period is 7 to 8 weeks minimum so I have to pull out of the routine and the show. In today's rehersal I observed the dance and helped with spacing and reblocking.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>As I couldn't participate in the dance I decided to take control of the lighting and media. We lit the stage in the colours of the French flag. Finishing with a dark red washed stage when grace is lit up by the torches.&nbsp;<br>The media element, I created a power point of photos of the incident, tributes to the attack and news reports of regarding the incident. When we lit the dance we realised the costumes looked Alittle to similar to ones already used in the show. We made the decision to change the costumes to, mel wearing a red dress, Hollie wearing a blue dress, Lewis wearing white shirt and grace still in black. We stuck to the colours of the flag to show we can really highlight the fact that this dance is a tribute to the country and the attack.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Team work.&nbsp;<br>My group worked well as a team to come up with the stimulus from the brief. We all did our own research and was able to bring different elements to the table so it wasn't just one person doing all the work. I assumed the role of dance captain and production manager. I made sure the media content was ready weeks before the dress rehersals to ensure my company was happy with the work and did t want to make any changes that we couldn't of made last minute.&nbsp;<br><br>Skills and techniques&nbsp;<br>I learnt the importance of handling a delicate subject matter with care. This is a skill I feel will be useful to me not only in a dance career but in life as well. I gained this skill by being cautious as to what song we picked for the piece and making sure that we didn't make any suggestive moves into the piece. I felt the need to gain this skill as the subject we were handling is a tradgegy and people were hurt and killed. We wanted to make this a tribute to the country not a mockery. The preformance skills I applied were emotion in movement and facial expressions. I had to embody a person who had lost a loved one and faith in the country and humanity after this awful attack. As well as being able to change the state when we found hope. The inspirational interview helped us all be able to perform these emtions. I feel as though my ballet technique was lacking in the piece. When we had ballet inspired moves I didn't gain the correct posture or correct amount of turn out. This performance skill is what I will work on and I will do this by attending more ballet classes.&nbsp;<br><br>Audience feedback&nbsp;<br>As I ended up being part of the audience I was able to hear first hand people's responses. All audience members I spoke to said the Paris dance was there favourite and we you could hear people crying and people trying not to cry when the piece was onstage. The audience members all felt the use of the interviews intertwined in the song was extremely effective, and moved them to tears.&nbsp; When talking to audience members I was informed that some people did not like the media element in the dance as they felt it took away from our preformance. Although I explained we had to use media as it was part of our assignment brief.&nbsp;<br><br>Final performance solution&nbsp;<br>I feel as though the final piece was extremely effective. We used everything that was given to us I the assignment brief. We choose a subject which was on the news (as told to by the brief) and was a current affair which gave more of a impact to the audience. If we was to do this again I would of added more solo parts for grace (Paris) to really make sure she was established as the lead in the dance.&nbsp;<br><br></div>]]></description>
