It allowed me to broaden my perception beyond the U.S. and Western feminism mindset, learning about how social movements in other regions of the world. The course readings were quite niche and daunting to read at first, but once I was able to hear my other peer's perspective, it really helped. I never heard of transnational activism and it is something I'd like to explore in my interest of public health postgrad.

Coming into the class, I knew very few "formal" terms regarding reproductive rights movements as well as international relations. In this class, I wanted to gain more knowledge and understanding of these topics while learning more about feminist movements around reproductive rights as this is something I'm very interested in. I learned about many new terms, ideas, and cases in this class, broadening my international knowledge about the subject. While I'm studying STEM at MIT, I am very interested in subjects/topics outside of this and am grateful for the chance to learn more about something new outside of my STEM courses. I feel more confident about having discussions around these topics with friends, family, and other people in/out of the field!
