The students being encouraged allows the to progress in school. Sadly there are some teachers who are responsible to discouraging students due to having low expectations for them as an act of elitism. Equal Education and educational equity are not the same thing.  Educational equity all students should have the same chance to reach the same goals, each student is given what they need to be successful. Equal education means all students are given the same resources.
