I will be using Cornell Notes in class because I have always used them. They help students stay focused and develop notes that are useful to students. Also, I will be using intentional language more in positive feedback for students and even intentional language when I have to correct or aid a students learning. I will also try to utilize hand signals as well in the classroom to prompt students for further elaboration on content and ask students to utilize academic language.

I will use Cornell notes when we discuss how to find literary elements and how to construct arguments because students need to be responsible for this information, but I need to empower them with the language skills they need rather than rephrasing everything for them or spoon feeding their ability to find the main idea of what we read.
