Today we see kids spending a lot of time on TikTok, video games, and other electronic devices.  Play is very individualized, and some kids might have an easier time getting along with other kids than others.  However, the benefits are in the same developmental areas including include social, emotional, physical, cognitive and language development. Focusing specifically on social development, children are able to cope with feelings. Takeaway: Love is something that we can feel towards anyone regardless of their background, gender, or social status. Students learn about love and other emotions and how they relate to a positive well-being and good mental health.

Activity: An emotion matching game that works on memory retention and analysis. Have a set of matching emotion cards, the teacher will set cards in front of the students face down. Students then will flip one card over and look for its match. If they do not get a match, they will flip the cards back over and leave them in their spot and repeat attempt until they get all of the matches.

Materials: Emotion matching cards

SPED adaption: Digital matching game for children who have a special needs disability. Takeaway: Understanding that love is something we feel, and the feeling can be towards anyone or anything. 

Activity: Students will be asked to illustrate and then give the reason through writing for who/what they love in their life.  The students will pick two people and one object that they love in their life. 

Materials: Cardstock paper, coloring pencils/crayons, writing paper, and pencils.

First, I researched education standards and created lesson plans based around these standards. We were able to come up with several ideas based off of only a few standards. 
Second, we worked together with my partner on the project. I did most of the work in creating the Padlet, and it too was an opportunity to express creativity in choosing different pictures and colors. 
This project was important for me to work with my partner to express our creativity and develop ideas together. It was also good to have some exposure to Padlet that I think I could use in my future classroom.
This project also allowed me to grow my further understanding for children and their feelings. For me personally, I do not agree with the books message about same sex love and such.  However, it is important for children to love their friends and get along with one another.  It was a great way for me to grow
