They include aspects of the Hero and the damsel. They are too curious for their own good, lucky (but not always in the end), very vulnerable and their fear is over come by their determination to survive

The Villain

This can be a higher supernatural power such as the head vampire, werewolf, spirit or demon.

Or a serial killer.

If they are a person there will be a reason that they are targeting the main character. They always have a weakness that is exploited by the end.

The Sidekick

This role is filled by friends or family of the main character who almost always die along the way. At times they also fill the role of the damsel.

The Henchman/ Secondary Villain

This role is taken by lesser supernatural powers or an accomplice to the murderer. They are usually expendable and their death might lead to the aggravation of the ‘Villain’ figure.

Inanimate Objects

These are non-living objects E.g. A coffin, a knife or other murder weapon, a mobile phone, a car etc… These objects should be interactive in the performance. Nobody is to play a tree in the background!

Transformation of Objects

.This must be used at least twice.

This means you have to use an item on the stage or a piece of costume (Chair, table, hat, and scarf) and use it as something different to its original purpose in another part of the play. Be imaginative with this, the sky’s the limit as long as you can make it believable for the audience.

A small town, haunted house, a spooky forest, summer camp, old mental asylum, an abandoned house or town, a basement, a graveyard at night, almost any location after dark where there are no people around.

.Page 3: A list of actors and a description of the characters / objects that they are playing. (You each write your own and then combine them on a word document. Dot points is fine)

. Page 4: Design.

As a group you will need to write about how you have used each of these in your performance. You should also include what you would have used if you had an unlimited budget and time. You should each choose one of the following to write on.

Set design and props: Objects used in the performance, decorations used to create a certain location.

Costume: What is each person wearing to represent a certain character?

Makeup: How is this used to display characteristics of certain characters in the performance? E.g. A zombie or vampire.

Lighting and effects: What colour lights are you using to create different atmospheres/feelings in the play?

Sound design: What music or sounds are you using to create suspense in the performance? How could you use this to scare the audience?
