Jenny we had a talk about being in the moment and improvisation. It’s not strange that John Cage and Fluxus were inspired by Zen philosophy (post 1). They found a combination between improvisation and Zen Philosophy. Also think of Jack Kerouac  (see post 2)

Also performance artist Merith Monk makes use of performance in relation to improvisation and eastern philosophy (post 3):

I had the idea you want to write about individualism and the communal aspect in improvisation. How in the improvisation there’s a flow of energy and change of identity? Here is a relation with the idea of the rhizome (post 6).

·      Maybe there’s a connection here with the Pythia’s concerning the Greek oracles. An oracle is a person or thing considered to provide insight, wise counsel or prophetic predictions, most notably including precognition of the future, inspired by deities. If done through occultic means, it is a form of divination. The word oracle comes from the Latin verb ōrāre, "to speak" and properly refers to the priest or priestess uttering the prediction.

·      Pythia was the name of the high priestess of the Temple of Apollo at Delphi. She specifically served as its oracle and was known as the Oracle of Delphi. Her title was also historically glossed in English as the Pythoness. At Delphi the divine words of Apollo were conveyed by the enigmatic priestess, the Pythia. Later ancient sources claim that she was in a state of wild frenzy which resulted in incoherent words and statements. It was believed that this was due to intoxication from vapors rising from a chasm in the floor of the Temple of Apollo. Strabo, an ancient geographer, and historian, referred to these vapors as pneuma — the ancient Greek word for gas but also breath and spirit.
