This is a black and white photo, but the composition of this artwork is light and dark contrast, and the middle slash divides the photo in two, making the picture more attractive. The woman in the cheongsam, standing at the point of view of the picture, forms the visual centre.

When I first saw this artwork, I thought of geometry. Although this is a naturalistic work, the ingenious use of light in the work is unforgettable. The diagonal line in the middle also makes the whole picture more meaningful and makes the composition of the work more dramatic. Referring to the Depth of Field that we learned, this photo had an Extended depth of field which means everything is in focus.

This photo is a composition with geometry left blank. Large areas of walls are left blank. The characters in the lower left corner become the main body, which is also the objectivity mentioned in the previous class. The thinking and loneliness of the whole picture become more intense. This set of light also deepens the stereoscopic sense of the whole picture and even shapes the mood of the task state.

Interpret
If I were to name this picture, I might call it the Woman in the Shadow. The reason is very simple, mainly because when I first saw this picture, I was deeply attracted by the light of the whole picture. I think this picture is largely an expression of emotion. In my opinion, although a woman stands in a bright place, she lowers her head. As long as she moves forward, she will go into the dark.

The original idea of this photograph is to express the reality of unrealistic dreams, so this series of visual works by Elizabeth Porodina are all about this theme. This photo also expresses the inner world. If I use a sentence to describe this photo, it should be that the mask people wear also conveys information to the outside world. There is no doubt that this is a group of portraits, but at the same time, the concept of subconsciousness is also mentioned in this photographic work. When I saw this group of photos for the first time, my heart was shocked. This is the first time that I have seen the reflection from a mirror to express the inner world of human beings, which has become the source of inspiration for my final subject at the beginning.

This photo reminds me of some things about psychology. According to the knowledge I have learned before, I know that people's subconsciousness always exists to some extent, but sometimes they are not aware of it. The subconscious is always around people like a shadow. People sometimes want to live like masks, which means that people's subconscious or inner world is deliberately hidden. The mirror in this photo is a very special existence. The mirror is like a medium for people to convey their inner world. Through the mirror, I can see the message that the model wants to convey to the audience from his eyes. This kind of thing will not appear in real life, and it is also the most unique aspect of this photo.

If I could name this photo, it would be the person who took off the mask. The main reason is that when the model raises the mirror, the eyes reflected in the mirror let me feel what she once hid in her heart, whether subconsciously or inwardly.

As she wrote in her book, when I saw this picture for the first time, to tell the truth, I was scared by this mask and mirror. In this photo, the model wears a mask and puts her head into the frame of the mirror, which is like showing that people in real life are living with a mask, but are unwilling to give up such a mask. This is a portrait, which expresses the theme of double identity.

This is an abstract photo. The most important elements in this photo are the mask and mirror. Because of the use of a solid background, the entire character is highlighted, attracting the audience's attention directly. I think this photo is beyond reality. It is exposing some social phenomena in real life.

The most interesting thing for me is that this photo is well applied to masks, and the photographer also handles space very well. She puts the model's face in the centre, increasing the intensity of the whole photo. Even though the photo is a 2d product, the flattening of this space has no effect on the performance of the theme, and even makes me think that a real person appears in front of me.

In one scene, let the model stay in the same position, and then swing her head and change her facial expression to show that her subconscious mind controls human emotions to varying degrees.

Another scene will use long exposure and depth of field. First, the model will be the focal point of the whole picture on one side of the screen. The props will be two completely different things, allowing the model to show that she is making a choice and her facial expression is very calm. Then the light will be turned off, and the model will change her position. This will be a blurred picture. When the light is turned on, the model will be in the same position, But making countless different emotions to express countless subconscious is trying to control humans.

I had only used one light to ensure that people's faces are well- exposed.  I don't want every picture to be too bright. I want to express the mystery of the whole picture through this lighting method.

In the choice of models, I chose a boy and a girl. I asked them to stand in front of a mirror and use this method to express their communication with the parallel world.

When I was filming, I invited two friends of mine as my models, one male and one female. At the same time, choosing models of different genders has also prompted me to have the concept of showing gender differences. With regard to identity, I believe that no matter how many worlds there are, we are all unique individuals, which is why in the last two photos, models face to the camera instead of the mirror. In this project, I had used a black background and mostly high key to express the idea. The reason for using a black background is to increase the high contrast between the background and the people. By using the high key lighting, also can focus on the facial expression of the object (the model in the images).

The whole photography process records people's discovery of the parallel world, their peaceful coexistence with the parallel world, and finally, they realise that they are always unique individuals. The idea I most want to convey through this group of photos is to always believe in what we believe, just as I always believe that parallel worlds exist. Besides, we should also be willing to accept all the people and things we met in life and get along with them peacefully, including ourselves, so I hope to show coexistence from the beginning of uncertainty to the end when shooting. Finally, we always need to believe that are unique, so I chose them to look firmly at the camera in my last group of photos
