The first 3 years of my life started off in a small pond. It had no direction or vision. It was simple. This symbolizes the time I spent in Honduras with my big family. The memories I have left are playing in a small pool, walking in the rain, and spending time with family.

Next... a plane crashed into the pond and altered everything I knew. The tadpole (Me) was launched into a lake with some of my family as we made a new life in America. For a while, we all had to live together but soon made out own lives. Nevertheless, the memory of flying was never lost.

During my time in elementary and middle school, life started to shape my personality. I was finally getting the hang of both Spanish and English. My drive for learning was also developed through multiple TV shows, while I was being encouraged by my parents in doing well in school. The group of friends I became accustomed to also changed my personality. They made me more talkative, outgoing, and free. I was feeling accepted by other people. Early in middle school, I also started to use social media to communicate with others.

It didn't take me long to start enjoying being smart. I loved trying to help others with questions in school, going to the front of the board, and showing my work. I would walk around the room helping my friends and solving problems. My friends would almost never hesitate to ask me for me either. I really enjoyed being that person they could count on. Into high school, I gained yet another leadership role in the band. Helping others while leading by example.

The water starts calm and smooth, but it picks up speed over time. It starts as a neutral and steady lake but eventually turns into a raging river that only gets stronger over time. The under water rocks and and gravity only push it along further, making it a force to be reckoned with.

First, I start off in a faraway pond, in Honduras. Then I take a plane to a bigger pond. After staying in a larger lake safe from lots of change, I become large enough to go the rest of the river. After learning more about myself, meeting my friends, loving learning, the language, and helping others, my river only gets bigger. My family, friends, and girlfriend are always on the sidelines cheering me on and making sure I don't become too overwhelmed, drown, or hit any rocks. They make me feel secure as I continue my journey.
