James Baldwin's contributions to the Civil Rights Movement was not something that changed the whole movement but it helped. What Baldwin did to help the CRM was spread public awareness of racial and sexually oppression. His honest portrayal of his personal experiences in a national context challenged America to uphold the values it promised on equality and justice.

https://nmaahc.si.edu/james-baldwin#:~:text=Baldwin's%20works%20helped%20to%20raise,promised%20on%20equality%20and%20justice.

When Rosa Parks did not sit in the back of the bus she helped the Civil Rights Movement develop because when she did that, it made people think that it was wrong to have to make them sit in the back. It would also help people with Color want to stand up because someone has already done it and it will be a chain reaction
