The meat I will be using will be pork. I will coat the chicken in the spices and 1/4 c. brown sugar and then sear in a heated pan to add depth to the flavor and a caramelized exterior on the pork. Then I will put it in a crock pot with the barbecue sauce, the rest of the brown sugar, and the onions. It will cook for a period of time. I will then shred the chicken to create the meat I will use for the final sandwich.

For the aromatics, I will be using lemon, onion, and ginger. The lemon will be used in the crockpot with the rest of the sauce ingredients. This will be used to balance out the flavors in the sauce with the acid it has. The onion will be used to add more savory flavor into the sauce/pork when placed in the crockpot. It will also be used when it is caramelized which adds flavor to the dish and bring more of a depth to the sandwich. Finally, the ginger will be used in the sauce with the pork. It will be used to provide an aroma as well as another spice to add a little bit of that sweet flavor which creates more layers to the sandwich.

The flavor building techniques that will be used in this sandwich will be caramelizing of the meat and vegetables. This will achieve flavor enhancement of the sandwich by adding depth into it. I will also toast the spices to make the flavor more present in the sandwich. The cooking methods I will also be using is the crockpot which means I will be cooking the meat slowly in a sauce to make it moist.
