Abuse of power:
There are multiple themes in Prometheus and Pandora's Box, but the abuse of power really shines through.
How does each story element helps develop the theme:
Setting: Mount Olympus-this is home to all of the powerful figures, the Gods, in the world. It is the home of power, and those who abuse it.
Jupiter: Jupiter is the King of all Gods, he has the most power, and he is the one who abuses it the most. He used his power to punish Prometheus, but ended up punishing all of civilization.
Prometheus: Prometheus is considered a mighty one, he has powers. He goes against Jupiters words, which is technically abuse of power, which leads to unfortunate events.
Pandora: Pandora was blessed with many gifts, one being curiosity. She used that curiosity in a way that caused suffering. She abused her powers.
Plot: Many points in the story show abuse of power, and how consequences are caused by it. Such as Prometheus going against Jupiters words, so Jupiter punishes him with Pandora, and mankind suffers.
