The French revolution was trying to maintain the status quo, an example is when old people tried to sanction the young to pursue a revolution focused on keeping up a status quo. There was also the problem of taxes and the unfair increase in them. This lead to unrest, most prevalent among the peasants and poor, that they were unfairly taxed compared to the richer. This was systematically problematic,

The king appointed a new controller general of finance, Charles de Calonne, in 1783 when he realized that this taxation problem really did need to be addressed. Regime were the ones who didn't pay taxes(the poors) so like 90% of france.People in the 3rd estate(poors) became frustrated because of the lack of food and because they were the only ones paying taxes and thought it was unfair so they began to riot. Mostly women were rioting for the lack of food. They gave food out to try to stop the riot.

The King, The Nobles, and The Clergy were the only ones part of the ancien regime; these were the ones who didn’t pay taxes unfairly due to them being the richest in the country. The first state was, consisting of the clergy, the second estate was consisting of the nobilities which was less than 2% of the french population. This led to a power dynamic between the power and influence of the 3rd estate, making up over 90% of the french population, and the 1&2 estate having all the power. This meant that the 3rd estate, even though they were the majority of the french population, they were marginalized with almost no power.

No one factor was directly responsible for the French Revolution. Years of feudal oppression and fiscal mismanagement contributed to a French society that was ripe for revolt. Noting a downward economic spiral in the late 1700s, King Louis XVI brought in a number of financial advisors to review the weakened French treasury. It escalated more by the radicals

On july 14 the people in paris took over the bastille fortress, a prison full of weapons. And over at the the countryside peasants took over Chateaux and destroyed artitrotic titles to land and peasant service.¨ Then on october 5th women from paris protested to versailles, it was called the ¨women's march¨ they did this to bring the royal family to paris to be monitored by the people. Things escalated when people from the royal family were murdered by an angry mob including the queen's best friend. They walked around with their heads displaced on pikes. They did this to take their hate on the queen, because of that the artitrotic began to leave the country because they were in danger.
