Du Bois believes white people are being racist, unfair and treat african americans in a rudeness way. He also believes white people should stop messing around and start at that exact moment to givve african americans their freedom and equality, Du Bois is strongly fighting for what African Americans deserve. He is running this race as fast as he can while Washington just basically is asking african americans to settle down, start from the bottom and work up,and work jobs they know. He wants both race to work together atleast as "partners" if whites dont wanna have a friend relationship with them. Its totally different than from what Du Bois thinks because he doesnt realy mention or talks about having a friendship with them instead he wants to push african americans straight to the top.

In the text "Of Our Spiritual Strivings"by W.E.B. Du Bois and the speech the Atlanta Compromise by Booker T. Washington, both authors having contrasting ideas on African Americans places in society. Du Bois believed that African Americans should make a place for themselves in positions of high power and not limit their capabilities. Washington believed just the opposite, he believed that African Americans should make due with the skills they have now and not seek positions of authority or those they lack the education to have. As stated in previous discussions Washington's views would better align with a temporary solution to African Americans making their way in society, but Du Bois's views better align with a permanent solution/idea for African Americans to attain.

The text "Of Our Spiritual Strivings" by W.E.B. Du Bois is a speech talking about Du Bois and his "double consciousness" which he talks about how he sees himself as the African American he is and he also sees himself how Whites would see him. Washington on the other hand with his speech "Atlanta Compromise Speech" where he talked about the "loyalty" that African Americans had towards their owners which in reality, they had no other choice but he was trying to convince Whites to make it seem they did it out of their own willingness. He did this in order to try and get the Whites and African Americans to come together and "prosper".
