Both texts obtain a multitude of similarities and difference between one another. To begin, "Of Plymouth Plantation" is written with a much more peaceful and calming mood unlike its neighbor, "From Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God." The moods of the text emphasize the beliefs and content. "From Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God" is preached as a form of propaganda. The horrors mentioned in the reading literally scare the reader into behaving properly and to accept their unavoidable doom. On the other hand, "Plymouth Plantation" is more interpreted as a history of Plymouth itself, and how its civilian s had to to cope and use God to deal with the struggles of colonization. Both texts contain common Puritan beliefs as mentioned; one being more peaceful and the other being more fearful. Other similarities include how the beliefs found within the texts came to be accepted and followed.
