         <title>Walking!</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In the image below, I am doing a simple, everyday task; walking. When I am walking, my <strong>cerebellum </strong>is hard at work because the cerebellum's main objective is to control It controls balance, movement, and coordination. It coordinates all of these areas and helps my muscles move in such way as they do when I am walking. My<strong> frontal lobe </strong>is also working because one of the frontal lobe's objectives is to control motor functions as to generate neural impulses that control the execution of movement (walking). Finally, my <strong>pons</strong> are the relay messengers from my cerebellum (balance and movements) to my motor cortex (which impulses my voluntary muscular activity such as walking).&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <title>Looking Outside!</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In the image below, I am doing something that you are even doing right now, looking at something. Looking at something is a combination of many parts of the brain, including but not limited to; my <strong>occipital lobes</strong> (Section of the brain located at the rear and bottom of each cerebral hemisphere containing the primary visual centers of the brain),  and our <strong>right </strong>and <strong>left hemispheres</strong>, because since we have two eyes, we have two optic nerves that meet centrally near the pituitary gland. Here, each nerve then splits again so that both halves of the brain receive information from each eye.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Eating/Carrying a Conversation!</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In this image, Lauren and I are suppose to be replicating a lunch time experience here at GBHS. We are eating, talking with friends, and making memories. For all of this to happen, our brain is heavily controlling what is happening as it always does. My <strong>hypothalamus</strong> is hard at work causing me to feel hunger because that is the hypothalamus' job; to manage motivational behavior such as hunger and thirst. My <strong>medulla </strong>also is at work here, as it basically maintains homeostasis by digesting the food I am eating, and allowing my body to swallow the food I am eating. It performs tasks necessary for life without be thinking about it. Finally, my <strong>Broca's area</strong> is working as well to allow me to formulate sentences and actually speak to Lauren about whatever happened that day before lunch. </div>]]></description>

         <title>Solving/Learning a Math Equation!</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In this image, I am supposedly solving a math problem that I had just learned from my teacher. I was able to learn this through my <strong>Wernicke’s Area, </strong>which is the section of my brain of which is responsible for speech comprehension, allowing me to understand what the teacher is saying and what he/she means by their words. Next, my <strong>hippocampus </strong>region is also working to form a long term memory of this equation/problem in order for me to remember for my test. Finally,  my <strong>amygdala</strong> is at work as well, reciting memories of fear for being scared that I will fail the test, motivating me to study harder so I don't have a repeat of failure (mem. of fear). </div>]]></description>

         <title>Opening a door!</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>- Below is an image of me opening a door, which is also a combination of many regions of my brain. To begin, my <strong>Thalamus </strong>is working to direct my hand to grasp the door handle because that thalamus is apart of the limbic (hands, legs) system located in the center of the brain, this structure relays sensory information from the lower part of the brain to the proper areas of the cortex (my hand) and processes some sensory information before going to its proper area (opening the door). In correlation with my thalamus, my <strong>parietal lobe </strong>is  working to get my body in the proper position to open that door and to get ready to move once I turn the handle (the parietal lobe is a section of the brain located at the top and back of each cerebral hemisphere containing the centers for touch, temperature, and body position). Finally, my <strong>temporal lobes </strong>are listening to the person on the other side of the door as I knock, to see if I get a reaction (the temporal lobes are areas of the cortex located along the side of the brain, starting just behind the temples, containing the neurons responsible for the sense of <em>hearing </em>and meaningful speech).</div><div> </div>]]></description>
