I had never used Pocket or Pinterest before, I had heard of them but never thought either would be something I was interested in. I just stuck to my usual routine of switching between instagram and tik tok. Only after making these two accounts do I see how useful thye actually are. They cater to your interests so much more than the usual social media apps I use and I feel like you have much more control over what you see and interact with. Looking at both of them I can also tell a lot more work goes into the content you see, it is not just silly memes or the same re-post that 20 accounts do, there are actually some really good photos/ pieces of work on both platforms.

Straight off the bat, my first impression was Pinterest was a bit more fun and causal than Pocket, maybe this was to do with my interests that I put down but the information i was seeing had a good few memes or sports pictures on my feed, whereas on Pocket I was getting life advice and more motivational content. Pocket also has more work behind the scenes I think, there is room for the person posting to write and give their own opinion whereas on Pinterest it is mainly about the photo and then you are able to comment but nothing more.

They are very similar though, in many ways including the fact that the content is tailored to you and you are able to save the content you like, they also both know what content is popular and will show that to you.

I really liked using both of these and I think they both manage information very well

The social media tool I have chosen is Be-Real

Be-real is a social media app that involves its users taking a randomly timed picture every day, there is no warning as to when to picture has to be taken and it uses both cameras. You are able to be both public and private so I think children should be able to get as much help as needed when using the app

My privacy policy for Be-real is:

Every user has the right to remove any content they upload to the app, it will not be stored anywhere, and once it has been deleted it will be gone forever. 

Every user will be able to decide who sees their content, who has access to their data, and what we do with their data. Any information about the user is theirs to share or keep. 

If at any point there is a problem with a user account or privacy they will be informed immediately and they will also be aware of the steps we take to resolve the issue if they are unhappy with the way we chose to try to resolve the issue they can make a formal complaint and we will take full responsibility.

We will remind our users that choose to share their content and data publicly that other people can take what they want without them knowing, we will try to persuade our users to safeguard all private information

At any point where a user is posting something, we will offer support to one of our employees to ensure the user knows what they are doing.
